Full Body Massage: what the menu words mean

A full body massage in Hungary is a sensual massage given in a private studio, for adults only. Most studios write it body to body on their menus, and in Győr the listings write body slide. Both point to the same session: the therapist works with her whole body as well as her hands, rather than with her hands alone.

The shape of the visit is much the same everywhere. You are shown to a private room, you take a shower first, and the session runs for a set length agreed when you book. The therapist uses massage oil or nuru gel, a smooth, odourless gel that some studios prefer to oil. The pace is unhurried, and the session ends when the agreed time is up.

When you read a menu, treat full body massage as the base item and the other words as variants built on it. A studio might offer the plain version in more than one length, then a nuru version, a tantra version or a session with two therapists. The length and the variant are what change the price, so the full body massage you searched for and the studio's own menu line are describing the same thing from two sides.

Everyone involved is an adult. The studios admit adults only, and the session is a service agreed between adults, on terms the therapist sets.

Nuru, tantra, lingam and the other variants

Almost every studio pairs full body massage with something else, and the menu words tell you what. All twenty six studios in this guide list body to body, or body slide, on their menu or their own site. Beyond that, the counts run as follows:

• Nuru: the session given with nuru gel instead of oil; sixteen studios list it.
• Tantra: a slower, breath-led style with a long, calm build; twenty studios list it.
• Lingam: a massage from the tantra tradition aimed at the male guest; twenty one studios list it.
• Four hands: two therapists working together; eight studios list it, all of them in Budapest.
• Couples: a session for two guests at once; seventeen studios list it.

The table further down this page sets these menu words side by side for every studio. A tick means the studio names that word on its menu or its own site. A dot means it does not name it: that is not the same as saying it never offers it. Menus change and some studios list only their main items, so if a variant matters to you, ask in your first message.

Budapest by district: where the studios are

Budapest holds most of the studios in this guide, twenty of them, all on the Pest side of the river. Budapest has a page of its own on this site, with its own table of every studio in the city and its full body massage menu.

• District VI, Terézváros, has the largest group, on Szinyei Merse utca, Izabella utca, Aradi utca, Rózsa utca, Németh László utca, Podmaniczky utca and Király utca.
• District VII follows, with studios on Dózsa György út, Wesselényi utca and Erzsébet körút.
• District V, the city centre, has studios on Petőfi Sándor utca, Váci utca and Vörösmarty tér.
• District IX has one, on Vágóhíd utca.
• District XIII has one, on Róbert Károly körút.

Several addresses are shared or close: two studios give Petőfi Sándor utca 3, two give Rózsa utca 101, two give Erzsébet körút 35, two give Dózsa György út 54 and two give Szinyei Merse utca 6.

If you want a full body massage late in the evening, the hours matter more than the address. Most studios open between late morning and mid afternoon and close at 22:00 or 23:00. A handful in District VI and District VII stay open past midnight, and one runs until 04:00. One studio opens only from Thursday to Saturday. Check the hours in the table before planning a full body massage around a late dinner or an early flight.

Full Body Massage: Győr, Érd and other towns

Outside Budapest, six studios appear in this guide, spread over five towns. None of those towns has a page of its own on this site: this is the only place they are described. The Vulkánház Masszázsszalon chain has a branch in all five, Győr, Érd, Sopron, Székesfehérvár and Szombathely. Every branch opens 09:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 19:00 on Saturday, closes on Sunday, and lists body to body and lingam. In Győr the chain's listing writes body slide; in the other four towns it is listed as body to body.

• Győr: two studios. Vulkánház Masszázsszalon Győr gives Külső Árpád utca, with Brassói utca and Mártírok útja also named. Sophie Massage Univerzuma, on Babits Mihály utca, also writes body slide, does not publish its opening hours and has the longest menu outside the capital: body to body, nuru, tantra, lingam and couples.
• Sopron: one studio, the Vulkánház Masszázsszalon branch on Híd utca.
• Szombathely: one studio, the chain's branch on Tóth Árpád utca, with Szent Márton utca also given.
• Székesfehérvár: one studio, the chain's branch on Berényi út.
• Érd: one studio, the chain's branch on Emma utca.

For a full body massage outside the capital the choice is narrower and the menus shorter, so read the table row before you travel. None of these six studios lists WhatsApp; all of them give phone, e-mail and a website. How to book and what to ask first

Nineteen of the twenty Budapest studios list WhatsApp, and six list Telegram. The studios outside Budapest list phone and e-mail. A short written message is the usual first step, and it leaves you a clear record of what was agreed.

In that first message, ask about:

• the length of the full body massage you want;
• the variant, using the studio's own menu word: nuru, tantra, four hands, couples and so on;
• the day and the time;
• the price for that length and variant, since no studio in this guide publishes one in its listing data.

The price moves with three things: the length, the variant, and whether one therapist or two take part. Asking before booking is normal, and no studio will think it odd. Once you have an answer, confirm the time in the same thread.

What follows is general practice; each studio sets its own arrangements, so its reply to your message is what counts. Arrive on time or a few minutes early: a session runs to a set length, and arriving late usually shortens it rather than moving it. The shower comes first, before the full body massage begins. Ask how payment works when you book rather than at the door, so there is nothing to settle in a hurry. Tipping is a personal choice and not an obligation; if you leave one, a quiet word of thanks goes with it well.

Being a good guest on your first visit

The therapist sets the limits of the session. What was agreed when you booked is what the full body massage includes, and nothing is owed beyond it. If you are unsure about anything, ask her in plain words and accept the answer she gives.

A few habits make the evening easier for everyone:

• Hygiene: take the shower offered at the start without being asked twice, and arrive with short, clean nails.
• Punctuality: keep to the time you booked, and if you are running late or cannot come, send a message as early as you can.
• Discretion: the therapist's privacy matters as much as yours. Take no photos, and keep names and details of the visit to yourself.
• A clear head: arrive sober enough to agree to things and to remember what you agreed.

If the session is not what was agreed, say so calmly at the time, or ask to stop. Raise it with the person you booked with, using the messages you exchanged as the reference point. Do not press the therapist about anything she did not agree to; a disagreement about the booking is a matter for the studio, not for her.
